Rider requirements

This is my first time riding a Segway or URB-E, will I received training and time to practice prior to the tour?

Absolutely!  Our equipment is FUN to ride and EASY to learn, most of our guests are comfortable riding after just a few short minutes.  Every guest receives a one-on-one orientation from an expert, Jake's Excursions guide.  We ask that you arrive 20 minutes prior to your scheduled tour as this will allow time for orientation, training and additional time to practice prior to embarking on your tour.  We encourage you to watch the safety video prior to your tour as this will advance your understanding prior to training.

What is your cancellation policy?

Jake's Excursions offers 100% refunds for reservations cancelled more than 24 hours (1 day) prior to the scheduled tour.  We will always allow you to reschedule your tour for another day or another time if you are faced with a circumstance that is outside your control. Jake's Excursions does not offer refunds for any reason within 24 hours of the scheduled tour.  The reservation may not be canceled or rescheduled by the customer for any reason (e.g.. illness, weather, change of travel plans, missed plane, overslept, etc.) within 24 hours of the scheduled tour without forfeiture of the full tour price.

Are tours cancelled in case of rain?

Very rarely. In the Las Vegas desert, the rain stops as quickly as it starts, therefore tours operate rain or shine. Upon request, ponchos will be made available.  If the weather refuses to cooperate, and there is thunder and lightning present, we will have to discontinue the tour. If this occurs, we will reschedule or you will be refunded the full payment amount.

Can a child who meets the requirements for the tour take the tour without a parent or guardian?

All children (guests under the age of 18) must be accompanied by an adult at all times during the tour.

Do we go inside casinos, museums, pawnshops and other points of interests during the tour?

We do not. Our goal is to devote as much time to the tour itself. We will make short stops outside various points of interest to learn about the historic casinos, museums and attractions as we ride by.  We feel that this will give you a great orientation to the downtown Las Vegas area and provide you with the knowledge to know exactly where you will want to go after the tour.

Are Jake's Excursions Adventures offered in any language other than English?

Tours and instruction are all done in English - to ensure the safety of each participant, all riders must be fluent in English.

Where is the meeting point for Jake's Excursions tours?

Upon completion of your booking, you will receive a confirmation e-mail with the location of the start of the tour as well as other pertinent tour information.

What should I wear for the tour?

It's required that our guests wear flat, close-toed shoes - no heels, wedges or platform shoes.  Dress comfortably in breathable material, avoid loose fitting or baggy clothing.  It can be very hot during the summer months in Las Vegas, please remember to wear sunscreen.

Is it OK to consume alcohol beverages prior to my tour?

No.  The Ninebot PTR by Segway and the URB-E are motorized transportation devices.  While riding either of these devices, Nevada Revised Statute (NRS) treats individuals no different than if they were operating a motor vehicle. For your personal safety and the safety of others around you, it's exceptionally important that alcohol is never consumed before or during any of Jake's Excursions tours. If we believe that you're intoxicated, we reserve the right to refuse the service and cancel the tour without a refund

While on tour, how will we hear our tour guide?

We are proud that all of our tours are equipped with individual listening devices.  These devices allow our guest to hear their guide regardless of street noise, or the position of the guide.  It's our experience that this feature significantly enhances the guest experience.

Can I ride a Ninebot by Segway anywhere in Las Vegas?

Unfortunately No. Las Vegas City ordinance prohibits devices on the Strip and the Pedestrian Walkway.  Your guide will ensure that you experience historical Las Vegas safely.
